Five years after leaving Hawkins, Mike Wheeler has built a life that looks like moving on. He lives in New York. He writes books people connect to. His name appears on billboards, his work travels farther than he ever expected, and from the outside, it all makes sense. But some places never really let you go. When a death pulls him back to Hawkins, Mike is forced to face the friends he left behind, the memories he buried, and the belief he never truly let die. What starts as grief slowly becomes something else. A pattern. A feeling. A question he cannot ignore. Across cities and oceans, an anonymous story submission and a single mistake lead Mike toward Iceland, where belief collides with doubt and the past refuses to stay quiet. This is not a story about monsters. It's a story about memory, grief, and the quiet persistence of love. About the people we lose, the promises we keep, and the moments that refuse to stay buried. Sometimes, believing isn't about hope. It's about knowing when to stop running.

What if everything that seemed like peace... was nothing more than a carefully constructed dream? After the final events of the fifth season, Mike begins to realize that something is wrong. The town is too quiet. People are too happy. Time seems frozen. And Eleven... is not there. Fragments of memories repeat like echoes: perfect smiles, scenes that don't quite fit, a constant feeling that no one ever truly escaped that nightmare. Little by little, Mike comes to understand the truth that no one else can face - that they are still trapped inside Vecna's mind. While the group lives within a comfortable illusion, the real world collapses. Portals open. Creatures advance. Hawkins falls apart. And at the center of it all, Eleven remains imprisoned, slowly being pulled into the abyss where Vecna awaits her. WAKE UP is a script-fanfic that works as an alternative final episode, exploring trauma, denial, sacrifice, and weaving together the loose ends of the fifth season.

I hate the last Season, and you do too. You wanna read a new, better version of it? Then this is for you! I am currently rewriting the whole Season. You'll see, there are similarities, but also some changes. I think the first 4 episodes are nearly the same, but then, when Volume 2 starts, it will be veeeery different. Enjoy it!

It's a happy ending. That's what everyone has been led to believe. However, when Holly Wheeler starts noticing things that aren't quite right, the gang is forced to question their reality. Their ending was supposed to be good and it was supposed to be right, but not everything is as it seems. There's always a chance. This time, it isn't a good one, because it means Vecna never died, and he's one step closer to victory. Now, it's time for the gang to get together one last time, if they can break free from this lie, of course. One last time, to defeat Vecna, for good.

mike wheeler is graduating high school. his friends are beside him, his life is ahead of him, but nothing feels right. he can't seem to ignore his best friend's eyes, he can't stop himself from looking like his father, and everything is empty. dull. it's grief, maybe, or something he can't name. he decides to do something about it. or, a conformitygate fic centered on byler. the title is (sorta) from pink in the night by mitski. this is updated irregularly, but probably mostly on weekends. the chapter count is not set in stone, but should be about right. crossposted to ao3, which i prioritize. thank you for reading :)

The alternative ending for Stranger Things, the timeline is different, and things aren't adding up. Can the party figure it out before the Mindflayer takes over the world? (Note, there are obvious flaws in this timeline, they are intentional)

Mike Wheeler thought he had survived the worst of it. Years after the fall of Vecna and the death of Eleven, Mike is trying to live a normal life-working, sleeping, eating, moving forward. But grief doesn't fade the way it's supposed to. His nights are haunted by dreams of Eleven calling to him from somewhere impossibly far away, and his days are filled with moments where reality feels... wrong. When Mike reconnects with his old friends, he realizes he isn't alone. They're seeing it too: visions of the Upside Down, flashes of a world that shouldn't exist, and the unmistakable feeling that something is watching from just beneath the surface of their lives. Then Eleven appears. She tells Mike the truth-she isn't dead, the world around them is an illusion, and the only way to escape is to wake up. When Mike does, he finds himself in a ruined world where the war was never truly won. Vecna survived by invading their minds, convincing them they had succeeded, and staging Eleven's death to keep them compliant. Now the boundaries between worlds have collapsed, the Mind Flayer feeds on human energy, and the truth may be more dangerous than the lie. To survive, Mike will have to face the reality he's been hiding from-and decide whether waking up is worth what waits on the other side.
