Lyla has grown up living a somewhat normal life, and she has grown quite fond of her life in the small town of Hale. Since she was just a baby she has lived with the kind and loving Alexander, and has accepted him as her father. Her real parents died when she was very young, so she doesn't remember anything of her past, except the things that Alexander has told her. She trusts his every word, but could he have left some things out? When a man approaches Lyla claiming to know her real parents, she begins to question everything she has learned to call home.
