With this piece, I tried putting my deepest feelings into words - feelings that I have never really talked about with anyone. I feel like, it's mostly because of shame and feeling like I'll get judged. But with writing this piece, I also want to remind myself that I should at least try to give others a chance to get to me, otherwise I'll always end up alone.

I'm a 22-year-old writer, and this is my first attempt at putting my story into words. I was born as an only child, after my parents waited nearly 40 years for me - a fact that shaped how I see family, loneliness, and love. I write because some things are easier to say on paper than out loud.
