The after effects this destructive disease caused in the US puts adults on high alert after their own children start to die, but even years after most of the young population die, the children remain normal. It seems they did not inherit the same powers as they did over the pond, but that doesn't mean fear doesn't fuel the actions of the remaining adult population. As children are protected, large groups of terror lead adults attempt to target and neutralize the remaining young people, afraid of what they may become. This is kind of a spin off of the Darkest Minds series written by Alexandra Bracken, that's where the main concept comes from.

Mae was 6 when she was sent off to the camps. She was 15 when Liam and chubs broke most of the kids out. Along with michael they run from the ones who swore to hunt them down, and uncover things no one should ever know.
