🍀1st Place at the 2025 Four Leafed Clover Awards🍀 "What do I hunger for..." The existence of Shades are as old as history. Soul-eating entities with skin as black as ink and a presence as cold as ice. They don't have an end goal, their only purpose: to consume. Through a series of events, a Shade meets Dawn, a shy, noble girl that's still coping the loss of her father, who died three years prior. The Shade curses himself to her umbrella. All the while, making a vow - to protect her and watch over her, even if that means ostracizing himself from the rest of his species. --- What to expect: - A character focused story with a cast you'll grow to love. (Or absolutely hate) - Grim, dark moments, balanced out by comforting and cozy moments. - A story that takes place in a Medieval London-esque world that's expanded on as the story progresses.

"Be messy and complicated and afraid and show up anyways." - Glennon Doyle Melton *** -#1 in commercial fiction - 4/'19 - #1 in indieauthor - 6/'19 What could a beautiful young artist/college student possibly have in common with a stressed out soccer mom or divorced, middle-aged cookbook author? Seemingly nothing, except for their secret meetings held every week, always at the same time and place. Same Time, Same Place takes a laugh out loud contemporary look at three very different women, one scale, and a breakaway club for dieting misfits. But can they keep their vow not to become involved in one another's complicated world's outside of their weekly meet-ups? And what are they going to do about the men in their lives? Voted onto Goodreads Listopia's "Best Debut Chick-Lit" in its previously published version as Keeper of the Scale, this new updated version follows unlikely friends -- thirty-something Janine and her diet buddies, middle-aged Margarite and college student Rebecca -- as they laugh, cry, and, in the end, learn more about each other and themselves than how to shed some pounds... *A work of upmarket, contemporary fiction, this book is dedicated to celebrating unlikely friendships. *To read a synopsis of the novel, which is set in the scenic San Francisco Bay Area (as depicted on its cover design/photo credit: Ian Schneider), check out my previous post: https://www.wattpad.com/story/184125948-new-book-coming-soon

Ruhani: A Soul Learning to Breathe Book One of Untill We Couldn't Series She was never the storm. She was the silence after - the kind that buried you. Ruhani Mirza has always been invisible in the places she called home. Blamed, belittled, and broken in the corners of her own house, she survives by clinging to things no one notices - her poetry journal, her nani's voice in her head, and the sound of cassette tapes that still speak louder than her family. At twenty, life offers her a way out - a job in another city, a train ticket she hides beneath her pillow, and a chance to breathe away from the ones who taught her she wasn't enough. But before freedom can begin, the past demands to be grieved. From friendships that turned to betrayals, to a love that was never hers to keep, Ruhani must confront the ghosts of who she was... to find the girl who still dreams. A tender coming-of-age tale about survival, softness, and slow rebellion, Ruhani: A Soul Learning to Breathe is a heartbreakingly intimate look into what it means to be broken - and still choose to begin.

All Saylor wanted was a quiet life-one she could hold together with coffee, stubbornness, and the love she has for her son, Finn. She wasn't looking for anything messy, complicated, or romantic. But her best friend Marley has other plans. After one chaotic phone call, Marley decides it's her personal mission to find Saylor a man who won't waste her time or break her heart. Saylor laughs it off... until she walks into a birthday party and meets him. Knox is the kind of man who feels like a secret. Quiet eyes. Rough edges. A past he's rebuilding from the ground up. He doesn't speak much-but when he does, Saylor feels it deep in her chest. Their connection sparks fast and quietly, like heat lightning flickering on the horizon-beautiful, dangerous, impossible to ignore. But life is never that simple. Because right as Knox starts pulling her in with steady hands and slow-burn intensity, Maddox crashes into the story-loud, charming, and absolutely sure he can win her over. He's everything Knox isn't: confident, effortless, sunshine-bright. And he sees something in Saylor no one ever has. Suddenly her guarded heart is caught between a man who feels like peace... and a man who feels like fire. As the pressure builds-between motherhood, friendship, desire, and the fear of being hurt again-Saylor must face the truth she's been avoiding: She wasn't ready for love. But love might be ready for her. A story of unexpected beginnings, slow-burn tension, smoldering chemistry, and the kind of storm that changes everything-Heat Lightning proves that the heart always knows before we do.
