Dear Diary, My shift today ran for nine hours in front of house, yet it felt like two. A boy in ragged formal wear and a mess of yellowish hair has started to become a regular, though he does more talking than sipping on whatever drink I had suggested that day. He makes me laugh. His stories of massive fights and impossible battles amuse me. Every now and then, he slips in a "did I already say that?" or "I think I'm rambling."
