But avoiding the plot becomes a lot harder when the fantasy world around her turns out to be far too interesting to ignore. Because the kingdom is filled with dragons, glowing gardens, living magic, dangerous politics, impossible creatures, and people who feel far too real to remain side characters in somebody else's story. And unfortunately for fate- Elodie has never been very good at standing still while things fall apart around her. And while the plot twists into something darker and loyalties begin to fracture, Elodie finds herself standing alone between a kingdom that doesn't understand her... and a war that was always coming.
