She stood by the surgical table, her fists clenched tightly and her head bowed. Her eyes were bloodshot and devoid of any emotion other than shock. She was the only one left in the room. Well, the only one alive, that is. "I- I'm sorry.." She managed to choke out, her eyes wide, staring unblinkingly at her hands. "I'm sorry.." She repeated. Her hands clutched her bloodstained clothes, wringing them. She blinked, realization flickering in her eyes. She choked back a sob and covered her mouth as the gravity of what she did hit her. Tears landed on the blood-stained instruments she used only minutes ago. "I- I'm s-sorry.. I'm s-so so sorry..." She kept muttering endlessly, uselessly, as her body was wracked with sobs. But there was no one to hear it.
