Her pain, that she hides inside, is overwhelming, and outsiders, who try to comfort her, don't help. She runs away from the town full of pity to live with her Uncle Norm. There, she quickly realizes that sometimes actions speak louder than words, and though, her pain is unspoken - it's doesn't go unnoticed. She opens up for the first time, she feels things for once in a long time, and she experiences something, that could, just last a lifetime.

Luella can physically appear to be your average young kid, but inside, a lot more is happening. Sickle Cell Anemia had only JUST started control her everyday life when her bodily health took a downfall. Because of how severe this disease is, she is aware she might not be able to have as long as a lifespan as others, but still sticks to her regimen knowing it won't really be worth it in the end. Archie, her best (and only) friend has tried his best to stick with her through everything, knowing the person she used to be, but since she was sick, she felt she'd never ever be the same person.
