The Age of Brass is a delve into the retrofuturistic, decopunk world of political strife told through the eyes of a graduate student of the arts, Cherith, and her friends Alfred, William, and Walter. Centered on a fictional Earth's central landmass, "The Continent", the trio must fight their own social and political battles, as well as team together to seam a fractured world through the rejection of human ambition and feckless progress. This is the beginning of the book I am writing, first in a trilogy. I will not give out the working name of book or saga, until I am well into writing. The first part, that is called "The First Flight" is the story that I wrote while on the plane. Took about two hours then. Then I made the skeleton for the book to come from it. It quickly rose to a trilogy-worth material. I started work on this and as I see fit, I will add parts here.

"Ignorance births sin, Sin births madness- And madness... the echo of our own reflection." At a moment in time within a century - an age of folly - ordinary folk struggled to survive amid misery, whether from disease, the fires of war, or the grip of famine. Yet, in a world where flesh was no longer the boundary of life, something began to stir beneath the surface of reality. It did not speak, nor did it see, yet it breathed in a rhythm no ear could quite catch. Some called it a birth. Others, decay. But none knew for certain what it was that crawled within the silence. As the line between the living and the artificial began to fade, humankind was forced to confront what had arisen from itself - something changing, something that, perhaps, had been us all along. The mammoth hotel was called the tiers because each of it's five towering sections climbed taller into the sky starting at it's center with the next to towers, on either side, shorter by ten stories. Then the remaining two towers, framing in the other three, shorter still by fifteen stories. All five climbing high from the central lobby and underground parking structure. The three elevators that serviced the central tower alone were banked together directly across the lobby commissary and required a special key granting you VIP access. Even then only one of the three elevators went all the way to the top of tower five. Inside the elevator car of tower five at this moment was Wayne "Mac" MacCraig chief mechanic, driver, and right hand man to Geoffrey Knight, Commander of the international security organization known as Knight Inc. The Commander requested Mac prep his personal conveyance: the Crimson Cruiser, one of the two modified Duesenberg Coupe's Knight Inc had outfitted for the Commander, as they would be departing deeper into Serpent City at any moment and would be doing so by car leaving the dirigible anchored to the tower's roof landing pad. He was half way down and Mac's stomach rumbled harder than the thunder clouds in the distance. He was so hungry he barely noticed the lightning tearing at the night sky.

In February of 1959, nine hikers from the Ural Polytechnic Institute went out into the wilderness of the Ural Mountains. None of them would come out alive. Despite the best efforts of investigators, nobody could figure out just what happened to them: they concluded that a "compelling, natural force" had driven the hikers to their death. Needless to say, that didn't even come close to satisfying the public. The year is now 1964, and another mountaineer from the Ural Polytechnic Institute is turning heads. Nika Orlova is a prodigy in mountaineering, scaling mountains that most can't. Many people are fascinated by her, including investigators and family members who can't let the investigation into the Dyatlov hikers go unsolved. After more strange things are reported around the mountain where the hikers died and a chance meeting with the close friend of the hikers, Nika has decided that the time has come for her to investigate what happened to the hikers five years previously. She and others affected by the case head out for the Siberian wilderness to find out once and for all what killed the Dyatlov hikers. However, from the moment they get out there, it becomes apparent that there are unnatural forces at play in the mountains. And the longer they're out there, Nika can't help but wonder: are they about to face the same fate?

This action-packed ePulp Anthology unleashes four new noir tales inspired by the pulp magazines of the 1930s and 1940s. Blazing brawls and gritty adventure awaits dieselpunks, nostalgians, die hard or pulp-curious fans. Hope you can take a punch, because these two-fisted tales hit hard! For young hoods, the Aether Age streets of mob-plagued Chicago present a world of opportunity. And Mack and Mickey are headed straight for the top in "That Sort of World: a Tale of the Aether Age." It's class-warfare in Citadel City as Pandora Driver and her Car of Tomorrow deliver rough justice to the elites and a douche named the Gooch in "Who are the People in your Neighborhood?" "The Wise Man Says" introduces Mick Trubble: a hard drinking, chain smoking charmer who bites off more than he can chew... then chews like hell. The Dustbowl and tequila aren't likely to erase the regrets haunting the Fourth Horseman, but when annihilation is your sole purpose how can you find substance for your soul? "A provocative moral tale as much about embracing life as meeting Death." Sometimes prayers are best left unanswered. After the equivalence of centuries worth of service as Death, the former man is left wondering whether dying would have indeed been a more desirable option. The buzz of phasing in and out of temporal existence and lopping off heads only lasts so long. But when Death chooses to act on an event he recognizes as an "act of God," he discovers his calling to be more nobel than he thought. "Never has Death been so human as a kiddie pool, a folder chair and a bottle of regret. If only the other three horseman could be as easy to relate to."

Welcome to "To the East!" A fiction novel set in a fantasy world stuck in a World War one like war, but with a diesel-punk twist. (Everything here is my first real attempt at a novel and so far I have only published the opening chapter (which is rather short) and everything is open to change. As for chapter two that's in the works, but I've had some personal issues come up. My goal is to have it done by the end of January, however. I'd love if you'd share with a friend if you enjoy and leave feedback. Criticism is appreciated as well. :)

A young woman with the fate of a nation in her hands. An aircraft designed by science, fueled by magic and flown with passion. A World War re-imagined like never before. Strap yourself in for a wild ride as award-winning author Charles A. Cornell takes you on Part I of his science fiction/fantasy adventure. Also known as dieselpunk, DragonFly is set in an alternative World War Two. In 1942, an unlikely heroine changes the course of history. On the eve of invasion by the Nazis, twenty-two year old RAF pilot Veronica 'Ronnie' Somerset is fighting another battle - winning respect within the stuffy, male-dominated British military. She's feisty and brash and determined to overcome every obstacle to become Britain's first female combat pilot. When Ronnie is re-assigned to Enysfarne, a mysterious Royal Navy base off the coast of Cornwall, fate places her inside the cockpit of the most revolutionary aircraft ever invented. Brilliant engineer, Dr. Nigel Pennbridge has discovered quadra-hydrogen, an element that powers the DragonFly, a remarkable fighter-bomber that carries the hopes of Britain on its blue and silver wings. Across the English Channel, Nazi Germany is busy planning its next conquest. Reichsführer Bernhardt Morax, Hitler's personal sorcerer and leader of the Third Reich's Zauber Korps is preparing his Blutskriegers for the invasion; bio-mechanical warriors created by a depraved occult science whose dark secrets cross the boundaries of evil. In Part I: 'To Hell and Back', Ronnie proves she's a hard-nosed, quick-thinking daredevil. She embarks on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines to spy on Hitler's invasion plans and rescue a defecting officer from the Zauber Korps. Hans Schüller is a Nachtjäger or Night Hunter who introduces her to psychic powers she didn't know she possessed; powers that entwine her destiny with his.
