Mando was tense, and I knew he was because when I looked at his hands, I could see the veins raised against his skin as if they wanted to explode from the pressure. The helmeted warrior occasionally turned his head to stop looking at the controls of the Razor Crest and look at me, to make sure I wasn't dead; and if he managed to see my half-closed eyes, he would gently pat my cheek, asking me to hold on until we could reach that blessed destination where my salvation awaited. I was the kind of person who didn't reflect much on life until death was so close that I could almost smell its putrid odor in my nose. And in that moment, it wasn't just close to me, it was pulling me directly into the depths of the unknown, and I wasn't going to deny that I was scared, but I could feel the hope of being saved because while death pulls me on one arm, on the other, Mando is patting me and begging me not to let go, because if I do, I will never be able to fulfill our promise...
