In Legacy Hills, truth doesn't just set you free. It hunts you down. Morgan Welkin has officially survived the placement trials. Earning the title of a Skyhart Vanguard at the prestigious, enigmatic Shujaa Guild should have been her ultimate victory. But as she steps through the gilded, phoenix-carved gates of Ashbrook Lyceum, Morgan realizes that her trials haven't ended-they've simply evolved. Thrust into the elite "Jawroom" alongside eleven wildly powerful, Weave-touched prodigies, Morgan must navigate a curriculum where the magic is tied to psychological truth and survival. To make matters worse, she's drawn to Emmett Morehouse-a scarred, amethyst-eyed "Ironmancer" who navigates the school's dangerous, shifting architecture with a quiet, magnetic ease. Their connection sparks a rhythm she can't ignore, but in a school built on secrets, trust is a dangerous currency. Outside the classroom, the shadows are lengthening. Armed with her late father's cryptic training journal-which hides ancient Weave-glyphs and terrifying sketches of the violet-black entity stalking her dreams-Morgan is piecing together a legacy that defies the laws of magic itself. Meanwhile, her Uncle Zander carries a world-shattering burden: the soul-echo of Morgan's father is tethered to the living world, waiting to cross the Veiled Margin. But the Weaveforce demands balance, and anomalies rarely go unpunished. Handed a mysterious golden puzzle piece on her first day, Morgan is about to discover that her placement in the Vanguard cohort was no accident. She is a piece of a much larger, ancient puzzle. And the board is already set.

#272 in teen fiction {june 26 '16} ×× Protagonist - Eva Antagonist - Life as we know it ∆ It was a hour long drive from the airport to our new house. I always found car rides really horribly boring and unbearable. The constant honking, the bumps on the road, the whirr of the engine - it's the absolute recipe for 'Not Being Able To Sleep.' And that my friends is the major reason behind why I despise car rides - because I don't get to sleep. No matter how hard I try, no matter how I position my back or body or arms, no matter how sleepy or tired I am, no matter how soothing the music is - I'm never able to sleep during car rides. Also - claustrophobia. And a closed moving vehicle that makes me feel uneasy and trapped is a nightmare at the least. Add to that, it being midnight when our plane landed, meaning I had to spend the peak of my sleeping hours awake (in the moving thing) and you get an overly annoyed and cranky Eva. ∆ #346 in teen fiction {June 25 2016} © 2016

All that glitters is not gold. Annabelle Edward Stone moves from Charleston, South Carolina to Manhattan and takes charge of her life. Wanting to see the world all by herself and without the support of her overprotective parents, Anna meets people and makes friends, but what got the best of her attention was James. She was totally head over heels for him and was attracted to him at once. What bothered her most was the mysterious aura of James and that he is hiding something, and she was determined to know what it was. Little does she know, that some things are better undiscovered and not loved. #95 in mystery/thriller genre [Ugh I am too bad at writing descriptions I guess, please don't judge the book by its cover, or in this case the description and the cover both. I would try to improve it soon]
