In the little coast-side Silvervine Valley, magic was not uncommon. There had been stories told by the townsfolk of the otherworldly that had lasted centuries. The most recent-and popular-were entities in a haunted hotel-that was once very famous-on the cliffside of the island. Cecilia Wilhelms, a shy, pacifist, yet confident and defensive girl-and the granddaughter of the owner of said hotel, has a knack for adventuring, paranormality, and the supernatural. When Cecilia ventures off to the hotel with friends, she uncovers the most burning question of all. The people spoke of paranormality in the hotel, but who's the real monster here? Man? Or monster?

Married life isn't all that it's cracked up to be. When Kansas married the love of her life right out of college, she thought she had everything. Five years into their marriage something changed inside Braxton. He was becoming shorter tempered, possessive and violent. She chalked it up to stress at work and the fact that they had been trying for a baby for six months, with no success. His temper gets worse as the months go by. One night it becomes too much and she ends up in the hospital. She finally decides that enough is enough and leaves. Eight months later she's settled in a new state with a new start. She's working as a Paramedic and things are going good. While working a late shift she answers a call for domestic abuse. The call hits close to home, but she finds out the victim is a man named Archer and she feels an instant attraction towards him. Would being with someone who's gone through what she did make it easier for her to open up? Or will she keep the past in the past? What happens when she finds out her ex-husband is getting closer to finding her?
