Escar Pontbach wakes up in a library that shouldn't exist. Its shelves stretch beyond counting, its corridors shift when he isn't looking, and every book on every shelf opens into a real world he can walk through. Alice, the blonde-haired girl who runs the place, calls it the Atheneum. She says it has been waiting for him. She won't say why. In the heart of the building, a porcelain doll sits alone on a stage. Alice warns him not to touch it. The Atheneum itself seems to hold its breath whenever he gets close. So Escar does what anyone would do. He starts opening doors. Taisho-era Japan. A continent of elves and demons. A stone world where civilization has to be rebuilt from scratch. The deeper he goes, the more companions he brings home, and the more the Atheneum grows. But it also starts showing cracks. Rooms that weren't there yesterday. A note in his own handwriting he doesn't remember writing. Alice watching him with eyes that have seen all this before. An ongoing short story about a dystopian town. NOT proof read.

The Terrion invasion had wrecked the kingdom of Ohen. The war ended with a tragic loss to the kingdom. It came as a huge shock. Terrions were from a clan known among the people of Ohen as "The Unfavoured " Unable to conjure flames or show any abilities of the pyros they were thought to be ignored by the gods. They were seen as low born. The sudden invasion had revealed that the powerless 'unfavoured' were indeed far more powerful. They held a parasitic power to drain any magic from their opponent making them powerless. With that they could gain access to any power they desired. Many Ohenians fled their homeland. But the few who could not escape are exploited at the hands of this ruthless leader and his cruel subjects. The unfavored now get everything that they once lacked. Unlimited supply of pyro powers that they forcefully extract from the enslaved pyros to fuel their own malicious power. The native Pyros now live in separate quarters in pathetic conditions. None are allowed to own lavish property or come anywhere near the Terrion blocks. The war ground still stands with the ruins of the Queen's castle and the skeletal remains of the martyred soldiers. Believed to be haunted , none dare to walk on or even come close to it. A perfect place to house a rebellion. "The Dome" is a structure Hidden underneath the 'haunted' war ground housing an army of rebels plotting to reclaim their homeland and save it from the brink of Catastrophe. Human beings have never known the existence of the pyros or any being of magic. However, the town of Shadowden lies a little too close to magic. This town lies at the borders of Ohen the magical land of the pyros and beings only known to the humans in their imaginary tales. Auryn is an orphan growing up in an orphanage in shadowden. How is she linked to Ohen? Well....

All thanks to my good buddy. (keeping him private) Who added the amazing start to this story, which really captured the opening scene that gave it that strong start, that makes you drown in a story. With the way he used creative words that flow so smoothly it's pleasing to the eye, in a way that you can see it through your eyes. it's beyond incredible. I'm over the moon, I hope you are too. So I thank you 100 times. Message: If you see your purpose, don't be afraid to let faith lead you, no matter how bad, good or scary it is because it's meant to be. I wrote this story not too long ago (3//2//24), wondering if my writing style changed, I wondered if I lost or gained my skill and in the end I'm happy to say it has evolved. Now forced into military school at age fifteen, Jareth enters a high-tech academy built on salvaged enemy technology where students are ranked by their abilities and the rich buy powerful Evolved powers from special books. He must hide the Draven System inside him, its stats, experience points, quests, daily tasks, and growing skills, because powerful people are hunting for it. With a mysterious bracelet from his father, a tampered Evolved tablet giving him the rare "Jack of all Trades" power, and a strange egg that could change everything, Jareth begins to uncover a family secret tied to an ancient name: Draven. As tension rises and the old war threatens to restart, Jareth has to protect his sister, survive the academy, and figure out why the system chose him before the wrong people find out what he truly is.

Consider this my digital scrap paper. I write a lot that never sees the light of day. This will mostly be for poetry written for prompts! Until now, pinned on the wall is a space for my poetic experiments and drafts that are still finding their feet. It's messy and inconsistent; it's where the real work happens.
