Original Summary: a text sent to the wrong number. a conversation between two strangers. their lives changed forever, even if they don't know who's on the other side of the screen. will they ever find out? --- This is a reuploaded version of @ihaveajuicebox's Area Codes using web captures from Google Cache, Bing Cache, a lovely reading from @wattpadreader5685 on YT for some of the chapters google didn't cache (example, one!), and various other methods. Also, the last 11 or 12 chapters came from the original author herself, either via DM Or when the original was made public again in Spring 2024. I know there is and forever will be controversy surrounding Dream and related creators; however, this fic is fucking hilarious, so I am taking the time to make it available again. As Tubbo's nuke tears through the remnants of civilization, DreamXD-once a god, now a crumbling figurehead-clings to power by rewriting time itself. His final gambit: send Karl Jacobs into the past to rewrite the story before it ever began. There, Karl finds a young Dream and hands him a drawing of a blond boy with blue eyes-a boy he names Tommy. "Never hurt this man," Karl warns. Dream, misunderstanding the message, believes the boy in the picture is his destined lover. He swears to protect him, no matter the cost. Years later, when Tommy storms the heart of the Dream SMP, sowing chaos in his wake, Dream is faced with an impossible choice: defend his SMP or keep his promise to the one he believes he loves.

He stopped to look over himself in the mirror. His hair was still dripping and he had a couple bruises littering his face. Tommy also took note of the small scrape at the bottom left side of his jaw. He definitely looked like he'd gotten into another fight. His family was definitely going to be worried about that, he might even get a scolding from his dad about fighting. He was not looking forward to that tonight. He sighed as he approached the door. Slowly turning the knob and pushing it open. Whatever he was expecting to find at eight something at night, it wasn't this. In front of him sat his brother in a wooden dining chair, with a few drops of blood on his yellow sweater, holding a handful of tissues to his nose. His father stood in front of him, ice pack in hand, black wings bristled from worry. They only seemed to stand up more as the older man looked over Tommy. The ghost of him returns, the truth they know becomes distorted, and it only takes a server-ending threat to rebuild their home. This was supposed to be a one shot , but here we are. I love ghost dream so much. There is not enough stories about him. And yes, I blasted the song (to build a home) on repeat while writing this so I'm sorry if it seems really depressing. Prison arc? Nah, but ghost Dream? Yes. This takes place right after the community house is destroyed and Doomsday is set. Techno is mad at Tommy, but still cares cuz sbi is best. 😌 Update 2022: Techno will continue to be part of the story as a main character. I love his humor and he inspires me in everything I write. I will honor him in future chapters and future works.
