After being the sole survivor of a Cemetery Wind attack, Penelope Blythe fled off the grid and hid in isolation for nearly five years until one fateful day a wounded Drift stumbled across her path. Feeling sympathy for his plight, she provided Drift some shelter and nursed him back to health. However in doing so Penelope is now caught up in the crossfires of a battle between flesh and metal including old enemies who want to properly tie up loose ends. Drift vows to keep Penelope safe, but that's easier said than done when you have to deal with a dishonourable bounty hunter and the threat of extinction looming on the hortizon. After meeting with each other and eventually sharing a dance something happens that makes both AJ and Drift upset so Drift asks to leave and off they go on a walk. That walk ends in the lavender field where they lay down and after some shared words, eventually, share a kiss under the moon and stars.
