A battle of races (vampires, dwarves, elves, etc., that is) rages on while the rest of the world is oblivious. One girl is somehow singled out while she's pulled into the situation despite her desperate attempts to go back to her normal life as she'd once known it. Her adventures prove to be difficult as she tries her hardest to grasp the situation of the world as everyone knows it. Mind blown, she will fight for her own race in a dispute between the other 'mythical' ones.

The wind brushed violently against the sails, rain soaking them as it dripped onto the wood. Thunderous waves smashed against the side of the ship like a bass drum. 20 year old Fletcher had seemed to be getting the same dream every night for the past few years but he doesn't know why. He has heard stories ever since he was young about the other side of the ocean.

A series of short works about a half-drow named Talaste, a Menzoberranyr raised to worship another demon lord besides Lolth and who was suddenly orphaned and forced to fend for herself in the Braeryn with the help of another orphan. Events in her life forced her to flee Menzoberranzan, and she briefly helped a town on the surface before stumbling into the land of Barovia. Lolth, the Drow of the Underdark, and other characters created and published by WoTC belong to them and only appear in this work under fair use. Talaste and other characters created by myself or my group members belong to their respective owners, and any mention of my group's characters is also done under fair use. Another shard reflected in the distance, the vibrant orange glittering in welcome. For days Analiese had been chasing the glint that forever seemed to be just out of her grasp. She knew her way about the mountains like the back of her hand but while chasing the shard the world around her changed, becoming far rockier and deadly than she remembered. Perched atop it all was a single cavern. Deeper than imaginable and the blackest of black during the day it scared away all shadows at its presence. Inaccessible by humans her prize lay in wait, teasing her. Mocking her for her inability to approach. There was two things that she did receive though. A scale that was far larger than her hands baring the same brilliant orange she chased daily and an entity that wishes to steer her down a veiled path. One night it can be taunting her, displaying it's odious behavior while the next night he can be as suave and charming as any male thing could be. Warning her of the dragon of orange or dancing away the night as he hummed some macabre tune. In return her family life has changed drastically, her father is constantly pressing for her to settle down while refusing to tell her what has happened to the former metropolis not even a mile away. In no way is she aloud near the citadel she is sure is the cause of everything. From the creature named Saber to the reason that a pair of brothers watch over the isolated town as if it's a prison. It was simple curiosity but this fairytale won't have a happy ending like everyone wishes. Everything that can go wrong will go wrong. It all started with a scale. It will end with bloodshed and broken souls. Bones and skin are for those weak of heart. The best way to destroy anyone is to take what they care for most and play with it. After all, everyone's heart is glass.
