The forgotten temple of the Goddess Narine, the mystical Lady Mist, and a new army controlled by evil. Will they overcome such tremendous odds?   The deep desert is a vast wasteland, thousands of miles of shifting sands and blowing winds. Ancient obelisks are discovered leading to the forgotten temple of the Goddess Narine. The reading of the Twelve Tablets brings forth a mystical being, but also releases a powerful evil. All the people of the eastern and deep desert are in peril. Those possessed by the evil must be stopped before it can be brought back into balance. Can it be done?   Don't miss this exciting tale of an ancient Goddess, mystical evil, and epic battles! Reviews: ***** ...What I most enjoy about this story is the ability of the author to draw one into the minds of his characters, even those who happen to be on the "wrong" side of the battle. Additionally, the banter is natural and entertaining, the characters are complex and dynamic, and the battles are epic and exciting. On that note, few authors are able to narrate a battle with such skill that they can keep me from skimming through them, but R.L. Kiser is one of them.  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads **** R.L. Kiser has created a really epic trilogy with the Tales of the Crystal series and I have loved each one more than the other. The Twelve Tablets is fast paced and it really forces your brain to try to keep up with all of the action, while at the same time keeping you engaged in the characters. For me, this book is very character driven and I like that fact. Each character is well fleshed out and you can picture them in your mind and understand why they choose to do the actions they do. Lovers of fantasy are really going to enjoy this last installment of the series because it hits all the key points you like to see in well written fantasy work. I am glad that I started reading this series and would highly recommend it. ·· Kathryn Bennett for Readers' Favorite

Book One of the Guardians of Gaia series. Boyhood is one half of the first book written by Daryl Omar, the other half being "Youth". The story and world-building needed so much development that's taken over a decade to do as an independent self-published author. Morgan Ellys is a child soldier raised by the military as a human weapon. Born an ether bender, a rarity in modern-day Gaia. Colin Gregor has studied the mysterious, unstoppable power of celestial Guardians sent by God to protect Gaia. He learns if a mortal gives up their body to become a vicar, they will receive the power to fight an army stand-alone. Colin would have the power to conquer Gaia. So, Colin conspires with his best friend to take Gaia for themselves. But when Ray Bradley Warren sees a boy crawling from the rubble of an earthquake he's created. Ray realizes he's made a grave mistake trusting Colin. As much as Ray wishes to atone by raising the boy right. Ray fears he is raising the only person who can stop him and Colin's schemes. Is Ray raising Morgan as a messiah to save Gaia, or a monster to deal with his enemies?

I never wanted to be a patriot. Patriots die poor. I wanted power. But power, I eventually learned, is just another kind of prison.
