1913. As the Russian Empire celebrates three hundred years of Romanov rule, Lady Maeve Fitzgerald travels from Ireland to Russia with her family to forge a partnership between Glenara's renowned hunters and the Imperial Orlov stud at Zalesye. What begins as a discussion of horses soon becomes something far more personal. Far from the glittering ceremonies of St. Petersburg, Maeve discovers a family unlike any she has known. Grand Duke Alexander and Grand Duchess Elena have built a life where duty is balanced with laughter, where loyalty is earned, and where their children-from thoughtful Andrei to spirited Natalia and the irrepressible twins-welcome the Fitzgeralds into a world that slowly begins to feel like home. As Maeve and Andrei's quiet friendship deepens into something neither expected, both families find their lives becoming increasingly intertwined. But beyond the warmth of Zalesye, Europe is changing. Ancient alliances are shifting, old certainties are beginning to crack, and the future of empires-and the families who serve them-will soon be tested in ways none of them can imagine. Some bloodlines are inherited. Others are chosen. And the strongest families are built by both.

As Amelia Marie Rostron steps aboard the RMS Titanic, making history as the first female officer, she is met with a lukewarm welcome from her fellow crew members, particularly her mentor, First Officer Murdoch, who wasn't exactly thrilled about working with her. However, during the voyage his initial indifference with her deepens as Amelia's fiery temper and unwavering determination clashes with his own. As they gradually develop mutual respect for one another, the boundaries between professional duty and sexual attraction become blurred, leading them to question what matters most, their careers or their feelings for each other. As tragedy unfolds around them, the officers must prioritize the safety of the passengers above their own survival. While their lives hang in the balance and the magnificent vessel descends into the icy depths of the Atlantic Ocean beneath them, will they still manage to overcome the odds together and live to see daylight?

Charles, Jaclyn and Jessica are no strangers to school-yard harassment, but when the ill-tempered Nicolas Carter moves to Chatsweye at the beginning of term, they realise their troubles have only just begun. Still, they endure. With a little under a year to go, they muddle through their laborious schooldays, trying all the while to steer clear of Nicolas--an almost impossible task as it appears he has dedicated his life solely to making theirs a misery. But when a freak storm descends and sees all four adolescents plunged into the local river, they find themselves in a world far beyond their own. Despite a warm welcome with open arms and friendly faces, they are stranded in a strange, foreign land, with seemingly no way of returning to Earth. Will they ever see their world again? Their home? Their families? Struggling with their situation, the children are further dismayed to discover the world in which they are now trapped is slowly dying. An ancient evil writhes in an endless void, the seals of its prison weakening day by day. Its corruption seeps from deep below, draining the life from all it touches --draining the world itself. The children can't lose another home, not so soon, not when the faintest hope of returning to it still flickers. But are what they to do? How can they join the fight against an ancient horror in a foreign land? What power could four mere children possibly yield? With friends by their sides, and allies old and new? More than they can possibly imagine. ~ ~ ~ ...I can't write this description to save my life lol. A small (but obvious) heads-up: This story is under construction and constant revision, and as such will be subject to both frequent and sporadic (but mostly minor) changes, especially in earlier chapters. This is like a public 1st draft because I'm silly like that :D. You have been warned! Cover art drawn by me :)

A collection of brief narratives, diary entries, letters, and other ephemera regarding the life of the tragically beautiful Araminta "Minta" Cromwell. Eldest daughter of the illustrious Sir and Lady Cromwell, and the sister of Jacob Cromwell, she was forced into an engagement at the age of twenty-one. Her life's story is well known, albeit almost always through the eyes of her brother or her fiancé. As Araminta never left behind a cohesive biography or personal narrative, little has been told from her side of the story. This is an effort to right old wrongs, to bring to light old documents and diary entries that were previously left to mildew. It is, I hope, what she would have wanted. Disclaimer: the story is based on TVRPG, a week-long Titanic roleplaying game. Araminta and all characters related to her are entirely fictional. If you'd like to check out her brother's or fiancé's stories, please see https://www.wattpad.com/story/344901726-the-love-beyond-the-waves and https://www.wattpad.com/story/339684155-the-flower-meadows-tvrpg-2024

So we won't see much growth from Orraca or Beatriz. Nevertheless, I wanted to post this story...as it takes the tale into a new and unexpected direction. I wrote this when I was into reading about history, but not reading or watching historical fiction-- aside from Call the Midwife, which inspired me to add (somewhat) of a baby storyline.

Stories are written by the winners. Winners who never fail to paint themselves in a 'favorable' light. I've been called evil. Twisted. Strange. Heartless. All fair assessments; I dispute none of these claims. In fact, I hold my head high while confessing to the evil, twisted, strange, and heartless things that I've done. The things, those ignorant of the truth, would condemn. But all people are capable of all things under the right conditions, good or bad. Don't believe me? I dare you to read my story and tell me if you would have--could have--done things differently. One of your most beloved fairy tale classics retold. Get all sides of the story.

Six years. One island. A life shaped by necessity. In the late summer of 1913, Matilda arrives in Cowes believing she has stepped into a quieter, more generous world. After years marked by illness and responsibility, the island feels open and permissive - a place where days are orderly, futures are legible, and freedom appears effortless. Regatta Week confirms it: the harbour glitters, society is confident, and Edward Harrington's careful courtship offers affection, status, and a life that fits perfectly. But Cowes runs on more than display. Beneath the surface lies the work that keeps the island moving - its railways, its harbour, its industries - and the people who understand how fragile that balance really is. When Matilda briefly encounters Tom Mercer, whose family engineering firm underpins the island's functioning, she senses a different kind of recognition: not admiration, but understanding. As war arrives and necessity replaces certainty, Matilda is drawn steadily into the invisible labour that holds Cowes together. While men leave and are celebrated, those who remain become indispensable. Through crisis, coordination, and quiet problem-solving, Matilda discovers the difference between being permitted and being required - and between a future that is approved and one that is chosen. Spanning 1913 to 1919, Matilda traces how a woman learns not to escape her world, but to see it clearly - and to claim a place within it that cannot be withdrawn when the emergency ends.
