THE GIRL WHO NEVER SMILED
Everyone at school knows Ivory.
They know her as the quiet girl with the permanent scowl. The "robot." The girl who eats lunch alone, avoids conversations, and seems to have absolutely no interest in making friends.
And Ivory is perfectly fine with that.
At least, that's what she tells herself.
Between cruel classmates, relentless rumors, and a home life where even her parents can't seem to understand her, Ivory has learned one simple rule: don't let people get close.
Because people leave.
People hurt you.
And caring only makes things worse.
Then Samantha comes along.
She's cheerful, curious, painfully persistent-and completely incapable of taking a hint. For some reason, she refuses to treat Ivory like everyone else does. And despite Ivory's best efforts to push her away, Samantha slowly begins breaking through the walls Ivory spent years building.
But there's something else happening inside Ivory's mind.
Something she can't explain.
A strange figure appears in her dreams-a faceless shadow wearing a top hat, with glowing red eyes and a voice that seems strangely familiar.
It calls itself Thing.
It claims to be Ivory's imagination.
And it knows things about her that nobody else does.
At first, Thing is everything Ivory has ever wanted: a friend who understands her completely, a world where she can escape reality, and a place where anything is possible.
But as Ivory's imaginary world begins bleeding into her real one, she starts wondering:
What happens when your imagination knows more about you than you know about yourself?
Sometimes the people who seem the most emotionless are the ones feeling everything.
And sometimes, the strangest things in your head are trying to tell you something.
Welcome to Ivory's world.
Just be careful where you wander.
