Sixteen-year-old Lou is having a hard time moving on. Ever since her best friends moved to Texas, everything feels different. The days seem longer, her neighborhood feels emptier, and the boyfriend she's been holding on to is becoming harder and harder to ignore. What used to feel like love now feels like something else entirely. Then, during an ordinary walk through her neighborhood, Alex witnesses a boy wipe out on his skateboard after hitting a pebble in the sidewalk. After helping him up and handing back his board, she learns he's new to the neighborhood. One conversation turns into another, and before they part ways, they've exchanged numbers. What starts as a simple friendship grows into something Alex never expected. Between skateboarding sessions, late-night texts, and getting to know someone who sees her for who she really is, Alex begins to rediscover the parts of herself she'd lost. But as her feelings for the new boy grow stronger, her toxic relationship becomes impossible to ignore. To move forward, Alex will have to decide what-and who-is worth holding on to.

Welcome to Eldridge Preparatory and Correctional Academy for Boys. My name is Frank, and I'll be your host! Oh, also, it's my first year here, and I'm not at all excited. Let's get started with the tour. Eldridge is a "prestigious" institution, you could say. Selective to those with high intellectual capabilities, low behavioral standards, and a single flaw, that which isn't truly a flaw. It is a religious place, that which takes great steps to keep a clean and holy reputation. And what better than creating a homosexuality correctional clinic for only boys in God's name? But aside from that, we're looking at a nice, 87 year old school with excellent academics, excellent extracurriculars, and the most luxurious dorm rooms. Oh, also, it's a boarding school, if you didn't get that. So, come with me on my "adventure"? Maybe it'll be fun being the new kid with me. Probably not, but maybe.
