A short story/biography of my experience with bullying for the TELUS #EndBullying Short Story Challenge.

i was thirteen when i cried my self to sleep at night. I wished that the bullying would have stopped, but it went on for months and years.

It hurts more than you think, being cyberbullied. Why? Because it's always there, it can never go away unless you disappear and throw your phone in a ditch. But who wants to do that? So yeah, all of life sucks and then this happens and you just want to go and die. Until someone actually stands up for you. #riseabove #endbullying

Kasey Carter is a fifteen year old girl who gets bullied. She has insecurities about herself, and people make fun of her. Kasey is a Christian girl, but she doesn't have Faith in Jesus. Kasey wants to run away, where no one can find her. She thinks that nobody cares about her, only her parents. Kasey tries to lose weight, and she tries to wear makeup, but her parents take the makeup away from her. Kasey thinks she's ugly, because people say that she is. Her parents tell her she's beautiful, but she doesn't listen to them. She listens to the wrong people who say hurtful things about her. At the age of 10 my siblings and I were bullied alot for our colour. "why are they calling me coffee or tea?" "why do they want to steal my candy?" "Kala?" At the time, I didn't comprehend what was going on but what I understood is that my siblings were getting hurt which in turn was hurting me.

The Bright Side [An Anti-Bullying Short Story] Patricia and Peter are twins. Patricia is lively while Peter is reticent. They are hyped up for their first day of school but things don't go quite as planned. On the very first day, Peter has an unfriendly encounter with Richard, the school bully. Things go worse when Richard perseveres with his mindless tricks on Peter. But Patricia and Peter pursue the right path, keeping their parents' advice in mind and go on to show that sometimes help may come from the most unexpected person. The two kids manifest what one's purpose in life should be, they manifest humanity.

Not all who wander are lost, not all that glitters is gold, and not all heroes wear capes. I wrote this as a reminder to those who struggle with something, whether it be a struggle with physical or mental health, being bullied, those dealing with abuse, or even just to those who have to deal with some peers at school who won't cease to bother them. This is a story I wrote as something to look back on, to share, and to remind that not all is lost.
