Novel Rating:10/10 Mom Stockpiled and Hoarded Trillions of Supplies while Dad is busy playing Hero [Rebirth, Space Ability, Stockpiling, AI, Trading, System, Farming, Pure Natural-Disaster Apocalypse Romance, with a Slice-of-Life Tone] In the first year of the apocalypse, her less-than-one-year-old children were killed. By the sixth year, she too was pushed into the abyss by her so-called younger sister. Holding a spatial ability and a trading mall, she was reborn two months before the arrival of the natural disasters. Su Yan swore she would never repeat the mistakes of her previous life. She would live freely, repay hatred with revenge, repay kindness with gratitude, and find a way to get everything she desired. Before the disasters arrived, she bought frantically, hoarded without restraint, and spent every bit of her massive fortune. The space was a gold-devouring beast? The upgrades and trades only recognized gold? Not a problem. She would sweep clean the vaults of every nation without spending a cent. After the disasters began: When floodwaters drowned skyscrapers, she stayed home growing vegetables and fighting off bullies. When ice and snow covered the land, she stayed home planting trees and witnessing human warmth and indifference. When scorching heat baked the earth, she stayed home planting flowers and marveling at the endless faces of disaster. When acid rain and toxic fog filled the skies, she watched the chaos, raised her children, and earned profits as a middleman. And that special forces soldier boyfriend who was also the father of her children, when would he come home? If he did not return soon, his wife would take their pair of children, will leave Blue Planet(Earth), soar beyond the galaxy, and head straight into the stars.

Terminating 'Raeths is risky business, so when an excursion on the outside goes awry, the newly mixed team Taran shrugs it off and digs their heels in, unaware that their uncharted movements have just snagged a thread on the webbed corruption woven just beneath the surface of their world. Ffion Prys' suspicions are first raised by the mad rantings of a target Hiraeth, and it's not long until her fears are mirrored on the faces of her teammates as they struggle with the cards dealt to them, bringing lifelong beliefs to the chopping block. Squabble as they might, they're in agreement on one matter, at least: that no matter what happens next, they have to do the right thing. For the nation; for the survivors. Ffion has never been a fan of cliches, and yet finds herself impossibly less so when her own fingers are burnt from playing with fire. All because doing the right thing, sometimes, just isn't enough.

???: "To anyone listening who has not been infected, this is a message from the Environmental Logistics & Solutions Enterprise. As you are keenly aware, our dear Earth has seen better days before the Great Desertification. And to make matters even more dire, our own attempt at combating it has turned against us. This planet is beyond our control, and beyond our help. Which is why we have taken to the stars for a fresh new start." "By the time you've received this -- we, among the rest of humanity's remnants, have set a course for the identified exoplanet Si-[**static**] confirmed to support life. As for you and anyone else unfortunate enough to've been left behind, our organization has left a parting gift to help mitigate this global ordeal. And so, we ask that you be well-advised." "If you happen to come across any carrier of the Absolute Zero virus, direct skin contact is to be avoided at all cost. It cannot be treated, and despite our best efforts, there is no known cure. So in terms of safety precautions, long-ranged heat-based weaponry is highly recommended; Flame throwers, explosives, lasers, etc. But keep in mind that they can only slow them down, not kill them outright. The cold from within will not allow that." "Furthermore, hiding from plain sight is not a viable option. They will know where you are. Not by your tracks, but by-[***static***]-atter-[***static***]-verall survival strategy is to stay as far away from the carrier as possible -- and allow our trusted St. Helio units to intervene. Rest assured, they will keep them subdued. And if all goes according to plan, the virus we created will spread no further." "Those of you who remain here have our deepest apologies. As well as our sincerest hope that you may persevere, just as human life has done since the very beginning. Farewell, good luck, and Godspeed. This world rests in your hands now." - COMPLETED - Book 1: When The World Died (The Beginning Of The End) The world didn't end with a bang. It rotted. One second, everything was normal. The next-everything collapsed. Death came fast. What followed came faster. The dead didn't stay dead. They kept moving. And they didn't stop. December Hayes was never meant to survive a world like this-soft, untrained, unprepared. But survival doesn't care who you used to be. It strips you down and forces you to become something else. Saved by a stranger who trusts no one and trained like a weapon just to stay alive, December is thrown into a reality where hesitation gets you killed-and mercy can be more brutal than death. Because out there, the infected aren't the only monsters. And sometimes, the most dangerous thing in the world... is still human. --- © All Rights Reserved 2026

The water made her. The water never let her go. Brooke Kowalczyk has three things on her mind: her best friends, her relay team, and the IHSA Girls State Championship at FMC Natatorium. November 15-16, 2024. Two days that will define her senior year. She doesn't know they're also the last normal days of her life. Six months later, a virus called TSJ reaches the United States from Europe. It spreads through bites and blood. Brooke calls it the end of everything she knew. But she's a swimmer. She knows how to hold her breath when the world tries to drown her. She knows how to keep moving when every muscle screams to stop. She knows that the water doesn't care about fear - it only cares about the weight you bring into it. From the suburbs of Hinsdale to the flooded ruins of Chicago to the frozen shores of Lake Superior, Brooke must navigate a slow-burn collapse that doesn't happen in a single explosion - it happens in phone calls that drop and never reconnect, in neighbors who disappear in white vans, in the silence when the power goes out for good. She'll lose things she never thought she could lose. She'll discover strengths she never knew she had. And through it all, the water will hold her. Or it will pull her under. The only question is: how much weight can she carry?

*Note: This is based off an old and discontinued story that had its outline scrapped and reworked to fit the prompts for the ONC. Essentially, a new book for this competition. Only the core concept, title and the protagonist's name are kept the same.* ----- A ribbon, a hair-clip, a pen, a notebook and a radio, held in the arms of a sixteen year old girl... ... It's been four hundred of years since The Rot ravaged the world and sent people downward with its decaying touch, four hundred years since humanity has inhaled even a breath of fresh air and twenty years since the first fifth-generation child was born in the shelters deep underground. And now, beneath the poisoned earth at the edge of the world, only six of them remain living in the last surviving shelter, the last surviving Lifelight illuminating a darkened board. For the rest were claimed by The Rot. Protected at all costs, older generations shields the worst of the consequences, the worst of the panic, but truth cannot be hidden forever. With increasing tensions and increasing crime, it becomes clear that there are only two outcomes: to die in strife or to die in silence. That is, until an inexplicable hope presents itself in the form of a radio transmission originating from the single most uninhabitable place on Earth, the surface. But it's too late, too late for most, other than the most protected, the youngest, the fifth generation. The waiting game is over and now it's a race against time. Before The Rot reaches them, before they run out of supplies, the handful of survivors must reach out and find the source of the transmission. From this, there are only two possible results: death or a secured future. *Cover done by the amazing @toruinagod*
