A short story inspired by the October 20, 2020 events in Nigeria. This is in remembrance of everyone who lost their lives fighting for a better Nigeria, and for everyone who has been a victim of police brutality in Nigeria, or a victim of any of the side effects of being Nigerian. This is also for anyone who has lost a family member, relative, friend or loved one to Nigeria. The killings going on in the name of reform, in our mother's land and country NIGERIA, has pulled 90 percent of the youths to the streets in protest, pleading and begging that the government stands up and does something concerning this issue. In the outside world being a youth is something they don't take for granted funny how this same people who stood and shouted #blacklivesmatter are still the same people Killing their own blood. What a shame these has brought on the black man. A lot of people in the world are already standing up and saying NO to this injustice called Justice. Being a networker, a crypto dealer and all other online businesses doesn't mean we're FRAUDSTER. Living a good life doesn't mean it came through fraudulent means, and with all this I join the motion. #ENDSARS.

Nigeria has failed me

This is a poem about social injustice and faint hope. It's born out of the pain of the Lekki massacre that took place on the 20th October 2020 when soldiers on the order of the government shot and killed unarmed citizens who held the flag and sang the national anthem and who were on a peaceful protests. The pain and horror of that day will forever be imprinted on the heart and history of the Nigeria republic.

..."I will be a goddess,my words and actions will-be law. Anything I do will have no consequence, you just watch and when I get it". I was baffled and could hardly control my expression when he hailed her "my one and only, adumadan, awokilumo" I shook my head in pity of their ignorance and thirst for power which went unknown to the other on my table... who practically promise to use their hands and legs to build their nations have not learnt any lesson from their past "heroes" as they rule with greed on their shoulders.

20th of October, 2020... "Maami, you people did not talk. Your generation didn't speak up. It is time for us to speak up Maami. It is our duty." Jóke, a 25 year old Nigerian is bent on speaking up to injustice following the death of her brother years ago by SARS officials. No one can stop the fire that has been kindled in the heart of the Nigerians who stepped forward. Will there be War or Peace? Will Jóke come back? 20|10|20
