This is the essay I wrote for my 2021 English Literature Prose NEA. I decided to read a variety of novels to find which one I would like best in order to write an essay I could be proud of. Some of these books included 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte, '1984' by George Orwell. In the end, I chose 'Pamela; Or Virtue Rewarded' by Samuel Richardson for my NEA. This was because not only did I find it fascinating to read based on how the main female protagonist was portrayed by a male writer in a patriarchal society where women were under the control/ power of men, but also because I wanted to write about an epistolary old novel. I enjoyed the structure of the text and thought it would be a great piece of literature to focus on the theme of feminism. I have uploaded it here just because I enjoyed reading Pamela, writing this essay, and it was a huge turning point that helped me advance/ improve my literature A-level work :)

Aftermath of one of my fake scenarios i made up so i could fall asleep (Spoiler alert: i did not). Mom said that if i get an idea i have to write it down so that's what i'm doing hah. In all seriousness, i want to try out writing cause i really like reading, feel free to correct me of any mistakes - i'm still learning and it's a bit different in English, especially the punctuation marks. (I promise not to dissapoint and write as fast as i can so if you find the story now please add it to your library and have a little patience) Elizabeth McKinley (26) shares a flat with her bestfriend El (27) and runs a bookshop in London for 2 years already. No plans for the future. No long-term relationships. One-night stands, happy hours and fun friday nights. Elizabeth's parents worry that there's no way to tame their daughter until one morning she bumps into the one person she never tought she'd meet. And especially in such a state, really? *noise of distress*
