I wrote as my escape, i hope you enjoy it and i hope someone out there feels seen. When I wrote this book, I had imageries appearing in my head. A woman who sits on a concrete wall where her lover used to rest their head. Wondering where your life went on a late summers evening. Briefly forgetting your life as you feel the adrenaline of plunging into ice-cold water outdoors as seagulls fly over your head. Being stuck between the past and future, and the fear of the present that comes with it. I wanted this book to feel like reflecting on your life in late summer, when you can walk through the streets at dusk and watch the sun fade being the buildings, just like you watched your life slip away. In this book I talk about learning to be okay with endings and change, enjoying everything; even the bad, trusting the process and learning what to hold onto and what to let go.

This short story is a brief insight as to how I personally feel during low points in my life. This is my first time publishing one of my short stories on here so go easy on me. I hope you enjoy and gain some inspiration from it. :)

Longing and wishing for a change and escaping from the problems at home and the ignorance young Elise was getting from school, she decides to set off and sail away from home with her best friend, leaving her parents completely uninformed. Knowing that their daughter often ran away from home in the middle of the night and come back after not more than two days, they at first don't worry about her absense that much, but as days pass and there is no sign of Elise in the house and teachers start calling her parents for missing school, they start to become concerned and more scared than ever.
