I was going through my notes and found a couple of things I wrote that I thought were pretty good

A novel. "Cutting off my thoughts of castration and torture, he said, "So, you've figured it out. Good." Still furious and almost blind with rage, I stepped closer to him. Our noses were a hair's breadth away from touching. Announcing each word with as much venom as I can muster- I said, " I. Want. Answers." I didn't scream but I also didn't back down. I was raised with a backbone which meant backing down wouldn't be an option. We stared at each other waiting for the other to concede in defeat. Like hell I would. If he thought I'd just give up then he'd have another thing coming. I didn't plan on going anywhere, leaving mom wasn't an option and I was foolish earlier to risk that.
