Writing kind of helps me get past the things that cause me to write in the first place, so enjoy my personal but for some reason self-publicized inner thoughts and struggles. I also don't like giving my works titles cause I feel like two description words can take away from how my poem comes across or is supposed to mean. I'd love to read comments or thoughts on my writings or your own experiences!

The year’s 3040 AD: After destruction, after the destruction of planet Earth. During the Third World War, humankind destroyed the planet. It was a wasteland; full of nightmares, dust and the lost memories of home. Very few survived. That’s when ‘the superior beings’ came. They claimed to have descended from heaven but we all know now, that it was a lie. They were not angels; they were vampires, werewolves and demons. They keep us as pets, as slaves, to serve and entertain their lives. Some of the lucky humans get to live in pens with barely enough food. The richer pens have surveillance cameras, richer soil for growing vegetables and houses that are wind and rain resistant. The poorer ones are normally left to fend for themselves: until we’re taken.

This poem sums up our life cycle. How it speeds from zero to 100 miles per hour.. but at the end of the show we have to settle back to zero, where we started initially. Why rush?

I wrote this piece, and as I wrote it I imagined it as a rap. I cannot rap, but i do also feel rapping can be a great way to express emotions. This piece is all the things that I have hidden in the past and I only hope people who hide the same feelings someone will come across it and will know they are not alone. People put on good masks!
