The Lamb was never meant to trust The Fox.
----------
Miel has spent her life sheltered behind the walls of her kingdom, raised to be kind, dutiful, and willing to sacrifice her own happiness for her future subjects. Alopex has spent his life learning the opposite. As a thief and survivor, he knows how to lie, disappear, and take whatever he needs. When he is hired to kidnap the princess, he has no reason to care about her fate, only his reward.
But their escape is cut short when a beast attacks them on the road. Wounded and desperate, they stumble upon a castle hidden deep within the woods.
It belongs to the fae. And they have no intention of letting their new guests leave.
Yet the greatest danger may not be the monsters in the dark. Because the Lamb was never supposed to need the Fox, and the Fox was never supposed to care whether the Lamb lived.
