Every year in late September and early October, there's a few weeks when the leaves are majorly green with a red and yellow tint; the air makes your hands turn purple, as the temperature drops. But you can't see your own breath, the birds haven't begun to migrate and the mosquitoes are still out and vicious. As the world shifts to its cold months, it desperately clings to life at the same time. It is the time before the first frost.
