Kaelith stepped into their house, sheathing her fencing sword; she noticed everybody's tear-stained faces-or Thalia's at least.
Thalia sat on their couch, face in her hands. Her guitar was noticeably missing from her back.
Kaelith turned from Thalia and walked into the kitchen.
Ciaran hopped into the kitchen through the window. She eternally cursed she was late by what? One second?
Kaelith was about to open her mouth, when Calliope-or Callie-ratted her brother out immediately. "Someone," she paused for dramatic effect. "Was out partying."
Kaelith shook her head. She blew some strawberry hair out of her face. "Listen, you," she nodded, "yes both of you, idiots," then continued. "Number one: I will deal with you," she threw a glare at Ciaran. "Later. Now, what's wrong with Thalia this time?"
"Well... we got two bad news, and one good news. Which do you want first?" Callie explained rapidly.
Kaelith pressed a finger to her forehead and groaned quietly. "Bad."
"Okay, (a) we got divorce papers in our mail today, and-" Callie didn't have time to finish her sentence when Kaelith lost it. She barked:
"AND NOBODY CALLED ME?"
"Well, technically, Thalia is the oldest-" Ciaran butted in helpfully.
"Yes, of course, who else would've came up with this idea! Of course it was you!" Kaelith yelled. She continued: "You sister follows you blindly, and you-!"
"Hey, we got two more things by the way!" Calliope reminded Kaelith, in an attempt of calming her down-at least a bit.
Is there more bad news? Kaelith couldn't help wishing there wasn't. This was bad enough.
"Well, the second bad news," Cal continued. Kaelith couldn't help wanting to burst out, News flash! I don't want to know them! "We're in debt."
Kaelith looked like she could commit suicide right there and then, but stayed calm... ish.
Cal shrugged. "We have to drop out of school."
