This story is based on the alleged death of Paul McCartney in 1966, and then being replaced by a double. Secrets of the Broken Ones is about the struggle and the heartache that the other Beatles - George, John, and Ringo - had to go through after dealing with the death. Can they cope? Or will they break?

John knows it's not Paul. He held Paul when he was dying. He saw the replacement being trained to imitate his late lover perfectly. But the copy was perfect, so perfect, that it's practically the real Paul he's falling in love with. Isn't it?

Paul McCartney meets a sudden visitor that looks, strangely enough, exactly like him. Not that this benefits either one of them in any way, though. This doppelgänger, Billy Shears, is quite determined to replace him, and does achieve this for some time-through non-ethical tactics. All is well for a bit, until it absolutely isn't. Billy comes back, and is much more determined to accomplish his one goal. In one night, can Paul finally be relieved of Billy's schemes, or will it lead to the demise of those that he deems close to him? #1 in "billyshears" tag. 1/14/24
