I don't write because I have the answers. I write because I can't stop asking. This is not a story with a plot. This is a collection of thoughts, fears, and quiet battles I face every day. It's for anyone who feels stuck in their head. For the ones who feel too much. For the ones who look at the sky and feel like they're falling without moving. The struggle of feeling lost, hopeless and searching for the light. Searching for acceptance in a world filled with fake smiling faces. Confusion and anxiousness fills my thoughts.

Alaska Monroe is lost. Struggling through the raging tides of grief and trauma, she has never felt more alone. A small town on the outskirts of the world is there to catch her, but will the place and it's people be enough to save her? In Alderwood North Carolina all the backroads lead to dead ends. That's how confining town feels to Alaska anyway, but maybe two curious souls can show her that this is only because she needs to follow the road not taken...

Ugh, everything just feels so... meh. Like, I'm just going through the motions, you know? Nothing really excites me anymore. I'm just a empty shell of my former self, wandering aimlessly, trying to find something, anything, that sparks joy. But it's all just a dull, gray haze. Even things I used to love feel like a chore. I'm just so... done. With everything. 😮‍💨

"I never intend to lose myself" Many people envy the youngest in the family, thinking parents go easy on them and spoil them. But that's not how the youngest sees it. Andy works tirelessly to avoid being compared to her sister, who is two years older. She's seen each of her siblings leave one by one, creating new lives without her and leaving her behind. The loneliness she feels is profound, but she keeps all her emotions bottled up because she knows they aren't seen as valid by others. In her family's eyes, she's just the baby, and a child like her has no right to feel that way. While everyone else sees her as lucky, Andy struggles with the pressure to measure up and the pain of being left out. She's forced to grow up in the shadows of her siblings, with their achievements and lives constantly held up as standards she has to meet. Every day, she works hard not just for herself, but to break free from the comparisons and to prove that her feelings and experiences are just as real and important. Despite the perception that she has it easy, Andy's journey is filled with silent battles and unspoken hardships.
