Elsie Brooks thought she had college figured out.
Freshman year was supposed to be simple. New school, new friends, new experiences, and just enough chaos to make the memories worth keeping. She had every intention of balancing classes, a social life, and the one thing she cared about more than anything else: figure skating.
After all, skating wasn't just a hobby. It was the one thing Elsie had spent years perfecting, the one thing she refused to let slip through her fingers. With a legendary figure skater for a mother and a reputation of her own to build, Elsie was determined to make her first year at WestBridge University count.
She had a plan.
Stay focused.
Make the team.
Keep her grades up.
Have fun.
And, most importantly, avoid unnecessary drama.
Then she met Cole Bennett.
A star member of WestBridge's Ice Hockey team, Cole is practically impossible to overlook. He's popular, confident, frustratingly handsome, and seemingly knows exactly how much attention he gets. Between packed games, campus gossip, and people constantly gravitating toward him, Cole has never had much trouble being noticed.
Elsie, however, isn't impressed.
In fact, their first encounter goes so badly that she'd be perfectly happy never seeing him again.
Unfortunately, WestBridge is a lot smaller when the person you're trying to avoid happens to be one of the university's most recognizable athletes.
And the more Elsie and Cole cross paths, the harder it becomes to keep their lives separate.
Figure skating and ice hockey were never supposed to collide.
Neither were they.
But somewhere between early-morning practices, crowded hallways, unexpected friendships, competitive rivalry, and the kind of tension neither of them wants to acknowledge, Elsie's carefully organized freshman year begins slipping completely out of her control.
She came to WestBridge determined to stay focused on the ice.
She just didn't expect Cole Bennett to become the biggest distraction of all.
