Rob is sick of being inside the closet and more so of his uneventful life. He should be enjoying and living his life to the fullest especially now that he's in his last year of high school. He can't. He can never truly enjoy himself when he's not even being himself. One day, he meets Lucas at the cafe. Their conversation starts quite sentimental but things take a sudden turn when Lucas decides to kiss him. High school just got more interesting for Rob, but it seems his whole life suddenly just got a little too interesting as he discovers scandalous affairs within his family and betrayals from his friends.

Rodowena Skylark is another ten year old girl who is already of age fit to raise a Pokémon of her own. Her problem is that her orphanage in Aspertia City has been shut down for some unknown reason, and now she is left homeless, until she decides to sneak inside a ship bound for New Bark Town. She tries to steal a Pokémon from Prof. Elm's lab, only to be interrupted by a quirky yet mysterious teenager, who then gives her an Oshawott. Embarking on a new journey with Falkner, the Gym Leader of Violet City, a fun-loving but enigmatic man who introduces himself as Kozaru, and a clean slate, she will get to know a lot of important characters, help a lot of Pokémon in need, foil the plans of Team Rocket and the New Team Plasma, and eventually find out why her father left her in the first place.

In a time before smartphones, social media, online TV and simple common sense, 16-year-old Ava decided to profess her admiration to her ultimate high school crush by sending a love letter days before graduation. Drunk on romantic comedy flicks and fairy tale endings, she never thought it would turn out to be the most embarrassing mistake of her teenage life. 7 years later, with a stable career as a Nurse and a curiously friendly resident doctor regularly on the floor, Ava is finally at peace with herself. That is, until an admission comes along which forces her to confront her inner demons and essentially, a choice that could change her life. The Five Directions (Short Story) Opening Line Story Contest entry (3rd Runner up) (Written in ENGLISH)

A 400+ word short story using "eyeball" as the writing prompt.

n My Mother's House is about the complicated love-hate relationship between a Chinese immigrant mother and her Philippine-born daughter. The novel starts as Nina comes back home to take care of her ailing mother after the mother is diagnosed with cancer. The situation forces Nina to return to a physical place where she is not comfortable-an oppressive house crowded with memories she has tried to flee from. Nina is once again confronted by her mother, a strong and dominating woman in her youth but whose very life now rests on the hands of her estranged daughter. While many things have changed in the past decade, her mother's house seems to have remained the same as on the day that she left. Nina herself is a different person that her mother almost does not recognize her. Interspersing a tragic past with the conflict of the present, Nina's failings as a daughter, her strong bond with a brother, and ultimately the reason for the emotional distance between mother and daughter come to light. Two people, equally strong-willed, are stuck in an enclosed space where each would exert her power over the other. One has the natural authority of age and motherhood, the other is armed with the realization that she no longer is the defenseless child she once was. Their present struggle pushes Nina to contemplate past conflicts, and finally allows her to come to terms with the person she has become. In My Mother's House is set in Manila, Philippines but is populated by ethnic Chinese characters. As such, the dialogues were a combination of Minnan Chinese, English, and Tagalog.

Ever since I was little I've always wanted to write a poem about an ice cream man. I think dirty ice cream is an important part of everyone's childhood. There was a time when happiness is buying dirty ice cream from a cart, ice cream not bought in cartons or gallons but bought straight from the cart in so many colors. The best days.
