3 months after the events of the Dragonsong War, peace, finally, has returned to the land of Eorzea. New heroes have been given a chance to stake their claim, and new adventures show themselves at every affable turn without pause for those who wish to pursue them. However, even with the land united and the future bright, there is much and more to be done following the century-long battle that had reached its climax, and while much is unpredictable, the City-States of Eorzea look to bring themselves up to snuff the only way they know how; proving to each other that they have what it takes to handle any kind of lurking darkness. How, you may ask? Against each other, of course, in the Eorzean Melee Of Dawn.

It's been a long year for Matt Herdsman. Learning of the strange parallel world of Eorzea has only made his life much more complicated. At the center of it all is his classmate Serena Winter, who has the strange ability to bring fantastical things from that world into the real one. Unfortunately for Matt, he's been given the responsibility to keep her from ever realizing the truth. And for the most part, he's been successful. But now he's been thrown a curveball. In order to avoid having to move away, Matt is given the option of moving in with his eccentric club leader, Serena and meeting her family. Matt soon finds out that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

It has been two weeks since the battle at the Crystal Tower. Admes had fled, Alenka changed sides, and Revenant's Toll was undergoing a recovery period as Eorzea's Warrior of Light laid comatose. Without Dariya on the front lines or with a clear enemy in sight, Eorzea's leaders would turn their attention to Ishgard with the hopes of reigniting the alliance that the Holy See once had with their people. However, to achieve this, they had to look towards the enemy that had been plaguing Ishgard for an entire century with it's dreaded song; dragonkind. A war was coming, and with it, the final pages of a 100-year long struggle that could very well decide the fate of all Eorzea. Though, unbeknownst to the likes of her people, Hydaelyn's realm of prosperity and progression would soon be faced with another, mysterious adversary...

This is just going to be a series of stories that I intend to try and write about some FFXIV character, some based on my own FFXIV characters or ones I just make up for the purpose of this little anthology. Final Fantasy 14 is owned by Square Enix as are the locations and majority of the characters featured in this story.

Setzer never wanted the title of Hero and certainly not The Warrior of Light. He never wanted to save a world that had never done anything to save him.
