AU where Alex actually does leave after Henry rebuffs him and disappears from public view, only to turn up half a decade later at Great Ormond while Henry's visiting, sleeping with his hand in that of a child none the wiser.

Basically what the title says

Please excuse the cheesy title (however i love it so oh well) Alex and Henry meet on holiday with each of their families, their 17 and falling in love but will Alex's obliviousness put a wall between them, will he manage to figure out his feelings and will Henry have enough courage to tell Alex how he really feels. Alex is on the dancefloor when it happens. There's no sign anything is amiss, until a series of gunshots cuts though the air. Back in London however, Henry's whole world is falling apart. [or, the one where Alex attends a nightclub in Austin on a day like any other and it's all history from there]

Waterloo Letters are one of the most important historical events of the 20s of the 2000s, it changed the world's perspective about the LGBTQ community and built a base for gender and sexuality equality all over the world. This book tells the stories of a few people from all over the world who were affected by the story themselves, queer teens or just allies who got the opportunity to help and support and took it because of it. --- Basically the trailer to RWRB came out Thursday and on Wednesday I spent the whole night rereading the book. This whole week I was (and still) so invested in the new movie and it brought back my love for this book as well as it inspired me to write this collection of short stories of people who were affected by this amazing event which I wish happened in our world as well. I do not own the concept of Waterloo Letters or any character from RWRB mentioned here, all belong to Casey McQuiston and others who own rights on the book, most certainly not to me. Hope someone would like this idea, I know it's not a regular fanfic and the last time I tried this concept (with Harry Potter and a story about a couple that were in Hogwarts at the time) it failed miserably. But still with the hype and everything, I think, maybe, even only a few people could enjoy this-at least I hope so. Henry has continued expanding Fox-Okonjo supporting not only LGBTQ+ youth but also being an essential advocate for adolescent and young adult mental health. But what happens when tragedy strikes back home in Windsor? Will Henry have to suddenly uproot his family and move to another country? They are all based around the background below: There was a school shooting at Alex Claremont-Diaz's highschool when he was 14. A classmate, Marcus, died in his arms. The works in this series show how Adult Alex is still affected by this trauma, including his relationship with grief, experiencing panic attacks, survivors guilt and how he falls in love with Henry along the way.
