Ashton Smith is 17 and he has been in what he thinks is an insane asylum for 342 days. He has done everything he can to keep from going insane but things are no longer working, the government throws a girl named Elaina Lockwood in with him in hopes that she can keep him sane. Instead, the two embark on a journey to save a broken and disturbed country from a corrupted government, in doing so Ashton has to learn what trust is and how to love someone so fragile, and maybe just maybe he might get back his sanity.

There was a time when I was a lost and damaged soul looking for a way out. Now I'm mending but I'm not quite fixed yet. This is a collection of poetry and short stories that I wouldn't call poetic because I'm lame and have no talent that I wrote during my dark time and my current light. Each word that is said in this is a representation of my feelings and my heart it's my soul onto paper my life explained in short sentences and poems.

He was a silent mess. With lots of scars and lots of fears. He wears a mask that covers his true soul, showing people how good of a heart he has......or so he wish. She was a brave woman with a pure heart. She is the epitome of kindness and selflessness, she would never hesitate to fall in love and choose love. She would fight for it no matter what. She knew he was danger and he knew he could hurt her. She saw his soul and he saw the pure heart. Until everything was in between them. She fixed him. He ruined her. She changed. She swore she would forget. He swore to fight for her. But what happens if it's too late? And everything in between would be the end of them.

Azuri Sparrow didn't have a hard childhood like most protagonists. Hell, maybe some could even call it decent. Maybe she doesn't have to have a hard childhood to have something happen to her. Maybe, bad things just happen because the Fates weren't on her side. Whatever the case, she is a whole lot different from most protagonists.

"Mother," I wrote, "I've gone to the library. I'll be back in 30 minutes." I placed the note on the table next to the couch where my mother laid, passed out from her breakfast of her favorite drink, whiskey and wine. I slipped on my heavy jacket and walked straight out into the blistering cold. The air was frigid, it nipped and gnawed on the bare skin of my face, bringing it to a bright red color. The temperature measured 28 degrees Fahrenheit, but no snow fell. Only the cruel wind blew in the shadowy time. I marched through the old streets of Montana, pushing against the wind, when all of a sudden, out of the darkness, a boy appeared. He walked through the wind with ease, wearing nothing but a light black jacket and skinny jeans. His hair seemed to have stayed in perfect place despite the wind and he seemed eerily peaceful, as if it was a nice summer day and he was just strolling in the park. When he tilted his head and made eye contact with me, I realized I had been staring. I advert my eyes, but take a second to glance back, making sure he was real. I think, maybe, I caught him smile. A blush rose to my cheeks, it was no longer the weather making my face red. I shook my head, shaming myself. He was a stranger, he shouldn't have this kind of effect on me. "But he does." My mind whispers.

"Didn't you wait for me?" "How long was a I meant to wait?" His eyes narrowed "Cause you sure took a long fucking time" --------------------------------------------------------------------- Time flew quickly at home, your time spent occupied with essays and exams, all of them piling up over your head, so much so you barely had time to think about him... But he always seemed to manage to slip into the slightest crevice or break in your mind, a picture of his smile distracting you from work. His chocolate eyes making you crave his touch. And his soft sweet pale lips making you dream of fond distant memories you longed to relive. 6 months. A year. So, welcome to my life and my thoughts. Everything in here comes from the heart and is something from my life whether that's loss, love, heartbreak, anger, jealousy, friendships, hard times, family and more it's all in here at some point. My life may not be the easiest, but then no one has a truly simple life, so I try not to complain, but here is the first time I've let others read what I write. So thank you so much if you read this, every read means a lot to me. Also, I know when a stranger says "if you have any problems and need someone I'm there", for me that's very true, I know how hard it is to go through things and hard times alone, and for me I've been through a lot. so basically, I wrote this when i was 11, but, I.. uh, cough, fixed the first fucking chapter, yeah uh, that bitch cannot be fixed, it's cursed, forever. but I'd only see positive remarks on it, so I hope you like it! if you r e a l l y want, I may even continue, with new mind to think with.
