Forgetting Stories

Emma's life was never perfect. She never had the nice house, white picket fence and a beautiful labrador puppy. She never wanted any of that anyway. All she ever wanted was loving parents for her and her sister. She's come to terms with the fact that it's never going to happen. Mike had it even worse. What would you do if you had a broken family? And when I say broken, I mean shattered. What would you do with an abusive mother? or a sister who lost the light in her eyes years ago? What would you do if your life was taken from you completely? what if school was and has been a living hell for the last 6 years? You would do what any other 18 year old girl does. You leave. It's because they don't know how long their success or 'good-thing' will last, in this case the popularity of the show, so they might as well capitalise on it now. Same goes for gifted sporting talents and athletes, they might get injured or just generally unfit as they age so they need to make the most of their stardom now. So this one's about moments where you have a talent, a great idea or unique skill, enjoying it but not boasting about it, as one day your skill or talent, for whatever reason, could disappear and all that's left is you. You are what people will remember if you were decent person who used their skill or talent for good- not your fleeting flash of fame.

I don't understand why I'm still here. So stuck with you and cannot move even an inch. I don't know how far or long I will still take for me to reach the finish line just to be okay. And maybe writing this book will help me, that pouring up every words, pains and ache until it's last drop may a way to get over you. That one day, I can say "You're no longer the draft."
