[Freshman15s Contest Entry] Destiny is surely a cheeky jock. Renz Salvatore have lost all his will to live. Being tired of his mother's selfishness and being abandoned, he felt that his life was meaningless and has no purpose at all. For him, it was the moment of apocalypse but less did he know that salvation was coming. It was a special night in the glittering city, Renz bump into a doll-like girl. She was attractive enough to catch him off guard. But the thing that really caught his attention was her eyes. Her orbs were remarkably ash mauve in color and staring at it feels like being captured. Feeling trapped. Unable to forget the girl, he then started seeing gray and black strings attached to the necks and wrists of people he came across with. And every time he tries to touch those strings, he sees a slideshow of scenes where and how that person will die. Confused and a little bit scared, will Renz be able to find his purpose in life and the answers to all his questions? "I am here to seize your future. For the meantime, please take good care of my eyes."

Henry Wise is a known detective in Davao City, Philippines. His surname points as a fact. In every crime he had solved, he implied intense observations and clever entanglements. Though he may seem to have no conflicts at all, an incognito killer is roaming free in their village and this annoys him. This killer is a complex one, since he had helped the police department solve very intriguing cases. But this unknown menace is one step ahead of them. The killer's advantage led to the death of many murderers as well as the dangerous ones. Henry feels there is a perfectly sensible reason for the killer's actions and he is determined to stop him as soon as possible, before many deaths may occur.

Hello to all! This is my entry to the amazing Freshman 15s Contest, titled A Poisoned Pear. When speaking of Johannes Skathi, the words lazy, worthless, and pay the damn rent get thrown around with alarming frequency. After flunking out of magical school, and punching out the guy down at the wizard’s employment office, Johan has ended up in a dead-end job as a rogue-hunter, hunting down all those who’ve broken magical law. Johan is sent down to bring the missing apprentice back, at any cost. But as secrets are revealed, and Johan is caught up in games of political intrigue and magical battle, he must decide who, if anyone, it is safe to trust. I was sure this is where he had disappeared, near where my parents bodies had been found. They were only supposed to go camping, no one was supposed to end up hurt and especially not dead or missing. My parents were dead, and nothing could help determine the cause of death since animals had eaten away at them. My brother was never found, the police speculated that he escaped from whatever happened at the campsite, but the question that still remained was where did he go and how did he escape?
