Nico never had any reason to doubt his friendship with Hayden. They had been best friends since kindergarten, and nothing or no-one could ever come in between them. But what happens when Nico's girlfriend proposes a threesome between them, and Hayden responds... unexpectedly to the idea? And why does he keep acting so flustered around Nico? Does Hayden secretly like Nico's girlfriend? Or are his feelings directed elsewhere? Contains NO bxbxg or any sort of throuple/threesome content!! Does contain a lot of mature themes and mature language, including but not limited to (homophobic) slurs. The characters in this story are flawed teenagers, and I do not condone nor do I stand behind some of their ideology and language. Rewrite of 'Touch of Fire'. Confusion. Frustration. Disappointment. This poem follows a spiraling journey through loss, regret, and fading hope, all while searching for an answer to a single, persistent question: Why? As wisdom sheds its leaves and hope withers beneath forces beyond one's control, the speaker confronts darkness, emptiness, and the unsettling distance between feeling and understanding.

Mary Anne feels like Humpty Dumpty. "Life sucks," Mary Anne muttered to nobody in particular, but perhaps given the fact nobody else was in the room she muttered what she did to her mother. "Why can't I have a normal dad?" She of course didn't want him to hear what she just said out loud, despite the fact saying what she did would only make it even clearer to her father that she was majorly upset with him. "I'm not sure what makes me madder, the fact he reneged on his promise that I could change my room, or that he treated Dawn's mother the way he did. I know Dawn's not going to be mad at me-that's just not here way, but still. It sucks." She felt like Humpty Dumpty on the wall, who had a great fall, nor did she feel like she could put the pieces together again. Her lips pushed together, and tears welled. She felt like she was at the same place she was before her father let her change her appearance to look more adult-back to him not understanding she simply wanted to be allowed to grow up. And- From what she heard from Mimi, her mother would definitely be disappointed in her father right now, as her mother would want to see Mary Anne grow up, but for her husband to have a second chance and it felt like he blew it. Mary Anne took in a deep breath. "Yeah. He's my dad, so there will always be a ton of second chances for him to get things right, or at least until I graduate high school and I'm out of the house, but a second chance with Dawn's mom? We were happy. Normal even, for once." She buried her head, forcing back the frustration she felt.
