Nessa. A girl with too many bad memories, an idgaf attitude and a flair for the dramatics. She's a runaway, who goes through life with a camera glued to her hands, false lashes up to her eyebrows and a laugh plastered to her face. When her life turns to shit she puts on another layer of lipstick, nurses a bottle and beats up some poor old punching bags. Shay. A quiet boy with enough pain to last everyone in East city two life times. The saddest thing is he is the result of a relatively happy childhood. He goes through life with suspicious eyes, earphones forever in and swearing a little too much. Always covered in paint, obsessed with gum, strange words and vandalizing things Shay is the complete opposite of Nessa. She is the exact type of person he should stay away from, considering its illegal for them to talk to each other. But then again she could be the exact thing he needs. They bond over daddy issues and sleepless nights, complementing each others flaws and both standing for the same things. And in a world going up in flames and falling apart at the same time, love is the last thing on their minds. But when clinging to hope gets harder and the urge to push everyone away stronger they resist. Because both Shay and Nessa need each other, they need each other to keep from completely falling apart, they need each other to survive.
