It's 12 days north of Hopeless and a few degrees south of freezing to death, full of dragon killers and vikings, mixed with love and some loathing. While may found solace in Berk, Elara Stormheart yearned to leave, but it's a reality she's forced to accept. Her childhood struggles in friendships with kids her age made adolescence a difficult period for her, but she dealt with it nevertheless. This absence of friendships also meant a lack of romantic relationships, which wasn't something she desired, but witnessing her peers and their relationships causes some jealousy. Despite Elara's closest bond being her mother and not caring about anyone else, her mother being keen on her daughter forming friendships signed her up for dragon training. She loathed the concept, unaware she was about to meet someone who awakened feelings she'd never felt before.
