Ever since the Red Hole incident, Lucien had never been the same. He had lost some of his memory, his home, and his humanity. Now he's a Deadman, a vile monster that manipulates their own blood, turning it into a weapon. After a school incident, things had gotten worse. He rightly accused for killing off his entire school and given capital punishment. Now he has to survive whilst also dealing with feelings for another prisoner, one who is also a Deadman.

Ten years ago a horrifying earthquake shook Japan to its core. Many perished, but a few found themselves with mysterious new abilities known as "Branches of Sin". Fast forward ten years. Japan's very own privately owned prison has a deadly secret. Inmates are tortured in order to win currency known as "Casts" to survive. Thousands of people watch in sheer entertainment as the inmates battle it out and die. Naomi Lang is not one of them. She doesn't have a Branch of Sin, she isn't a prisoner, she isn't a warden, so why is she even in Deadman Wonderland let alone the horrible Carnival Corpse? Read to find out.
