Emory Night, oldest living child of the alpha of the Nightingale pack, is no ordinary werewolf. Emory's wolf is extremely powerful, and the moon goddess plans to put such power to good use. When the alpha falls ill, Emory and her family are told to expect the worst. Preparations for the next alpha are set into motion. One of the alpha's children is to be declared the next alpha and the moon goddess wants Emory to take up this position. There are only two problems: One, Emory is a girl. And two, she has other plans. Such as skipping town, leaving her pack behind her, and denying her wolf. You see, all Emory wants is to be an ordinary human.
But now Emory has a choice to make. And if she chooses to take responsibility how will she deal with one of the hardest tasks set by the moon goddess in nearly a century? Opposing packs, vengeful siblings, rogues, backstabbing friends, and a pack that will fight her every step of the way? And what will happen when an adorably frustrating mate is thrown into the picture?
