I swallowed over the lump, then blinked hard. It had been such a long day, and I was so, so tired. I wished I could just leave, dissapear inside, but there was always something else required, a way to get away from here. Thinking of this, I looked up at the sky, cold and clear overhead, and took a breath. One, I thought, finding the Big Dipper as tears prickled my eyes. Two, and I swallowed again, trying to calm myself as I spotted Cassiopeia. I was searching for a third when I felt myself starting to shake, desperate to find something familiar up there, somewhere. It was so cold, looking through my blurry gaze, but then, suddenly, I felt Jake slide his arm around my shoulders. He was warm and close, and at the same moment I realized this, I spotted the outline of Orion. Three, I thought, then resting my head against him, closing my eyes.

I don't really consider myself a tomboy, but everyone else seems to. I guess it's a label that appears when you're pretty darn athletic, obnoxiously loud, and, of course, have really short hair. I can't say I really mind, though. Who cares if people sometimes mistake you for a dude? Who cares if they think you're in love with the lead cheerleader, despite making it clear you're not into chicks? Who cares if the guy you like has done all of the above? Just... Who cares? Well, definitely not me, that's for certain. My new lab partner seems to, though...
