At exactly 3:17 a.m., the sky started screaming. Not thunder. Not wind. A human scream - endless, echoing from the heavens. It didn't stop. It never stopped.
By sunrise, birds had dropped dead midflight. Phones burst into flames when people tried to record the sound. And anyone who listened for too long began to whisper words no one could understand - a language that didn't belong to Earth.
Nova Brant, a night-shift radio operator in a nowhere Kentucky town, was one of the first to hear it. Now she's one of the few who can translate what the sky is saying - but the messages are getting darker, more specific... and somehow, they know her name.
Meanwhile, across the world, reality itself is unraveling. Rivers flow upward. People vanish into mirrors. The moon splits into two and bleeds light that drives the living insane.
As Nova and a mismatched group of survivors - a paranoid ex-priest, a deaf teenage hacker, and a man who swears he's already died twice - race to decode the sky's warnings, they begin to realize the screaming isn't a message at all. It's a countdown.
And when it hits zero... the world won't end.
It will wake up.
