"Look, let's stop wasting each other's time," he said, stepping closer. "You've caused enough trouble already. Running halfway across the world, hiding, making my people chase you for six goddamn months."
Jullie blinked. Her mouth opened, but no words came out. Six months? What the hell was he talking about?
"And now here we are again," he added, voice like ice, "pretending like you don't know what this is all about."
"I don't know," she snapped. "I don't even know you-"
He chuckled, bitterly. "That's cute. But I'm not in the mood for games tonight. You're here because I want you here. And by tomorrow... everything will fall into place."
Her stomach twisted. She took a shaky step back. "What do you mean 'fall into place'? What the hell is going on?"
He looked at her, long and slow. Then finally:
"You're going to be engaged by morning. That's the plan."
She froze.
"To who?" she asked, voice barely above a whisper.
He stared at her like she'd just asked if the sky was blue.
"To me."
****
She wasn't his fiancée.
But that didn't stop him from claiming her.
A brutal mistake.
A powerful man with a plan.
And one girl caught in the crossfire.

Jullie Alverne was never supposed to be part of this twisted arrangement.
But when she's mistaken for someone else and dragged into the mansion of Kael Arisaki-a cold, calculating man with more enemies than friends-her life is turned inside out.
He insists she's the one.
She insists he's lost his mind.
But Kael doesn't care about facts.
He only cares about sealing his stupid business deal.
And once Jullie slaps the devil across the face, there's no turning back.
Not when he's already decided.
By morning, she'll wear his ring.
Unless she burns his empire down first.
