Chapter 2

A biker bar hardly seemed like the type of place that grad student Damian would end up. And bad boy Jason hardly seemed like the kind of guy who would sweep Damian off his feet. And yet; here we are.

Hi! I'm Angeline, a first-year law student up at Cornell. With casebooks thicker than my legs, moot court, memos and the like, the creative within me gasps for life. So, I'm trying to write a little something every day, whether musings about law school, my (unique) apartment, or random stuff. I welcome comments and criticism. :)

A journey

Nell and Dara recently finished their doctorate degrees and are looking for any job at this point. Their friend from their program recommends that they interview for research positions at the new secretive industry start-up: DREAM. As they uncover what the company is researching, their relationship becomes strained as Dara becomes obsessed with a dream-like entity they released. She believes it will help them save the Earth, but Nell is trying to convince them this thing is only looking to use Dara.

This is my second poetry book. Book 1 is published on Amazon.com and is called "Out of the Abyss". This collection of poems shows my life at a time when everything was going well and then it wasn't. A lot happened between 2009 and 2012. Every book of poetry I put together, my hope is that my words will help someone else with their lives; to make a difference. A group of expats grad students in Rome find themselves struggling to understand their minds, their paths and the way for mental health while still staying friends and finding love and firsts LGBT relationships.

I'll be the first to admit I'm terrible at nonfiction. I don't care how many A's I get, I don't enjoy nonfiction/academic writing in the least and don't think I'm very good at it. For this paper, we had to pick an author and analyze three of their books from a linguistic standpoint. I didn't understand what I was doing, I forgot to re-read, I winged it...and got an A. If I didn't know this professor was very good at sticking to the letter of the law, I would think he was crazy.
