Y/N knew about magic because of her parents.Y/Ns Father studied in Hogwarts but Y/Ns mother studied at Ilvermorny. Ilvermorny was located in Massachusetts where Y/N was born. She was born in Salem, Massachusetts, known for the hanging and burning of the witches.
